In 2014, Lancaster City Police Bureau established its own Police Athletic League (PAL) Chapter for the City of Lancaster. PAL’s goal is to reduce juvenile crime and violence by providing opportunities to law enforcement officers and youth to build positive connections through sports and other physical activities.
PAL has proven to be effective in forging outstanding relationships between police officers and community members. Due to the success of the program, hundreds of PAL chapters operate in communities across the United States.
Our PAL officers coach a variety of athletic programs and recreational enrichment activities to participating youth. They also provide mentorship and support outside of the sports arena to help participants reach their fullest potential!
For more information, please contact Officer Jeffrey Gerhart.
Lancaster City Police Athletic League (PAL) would not exist without the financial generosity of both our donors and partners. Please consider visiting our partner’s non-profit websites and giving to their efforts to make this world a better place. Together, we can have an impact that goes far beyond just our local community!
Along with our PAL Partners, the Lancaster City Police Foundation also helps to provide resources and funds to our local PAL chapter through donations so youth can participate in extracurricular activities that help them build confidence, character, and essential life skills. If you want to support the Lancaster PAL program, please make a tax-deductible donation through the Foundation’s website.
The following partners give to PAL indirectly by providing transportation, space to train, practice, or play, resources to hunt and fish, and more. While these gifts are not monetary, they are invaluable. Coaches and guides volunteer their time and expertise; facilities donate access to quality athletic courts, fields, and hunting land; and transportation allows our members to travel and compete against top competition. Thank you for your generosity!
