Last week, the Lancaster City Police, Bureau of Fire, and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health joined forces to host the very first Red Rose First Responders’ Camp! School District of Lancaster middle schoolers enjoyed 3 full days of excitement, learning, and fun activities.
Each day had a special focus:
Day 1: Fire Safety – Kids explored fire trucks, learned how to escape a smoke-filled home, and participated in putting out fires. 🧯
Day 2: Police Activities – Campers met with Officer Schwebel and his K-9 partner, Honcho, watched drone demonstrations, learned what it means to be a SERT member, extracted fingerprints from a “crime scene,” and ran obstacle courses. 🚔
Day 3: EMS Day – Students learned essential first-aid skills and CPR, watched medical professionals demonstrate how they use their equipment out in the field, and finished the camp with an ice cream social!🍦
A big thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to all the kids who filled each day with unforgettable memories. The next generation of first responders is looking bright! 😎
