In honor of Women’s History Month, we want to recognize the remarkable contributions of women who have helped shape and continue transforming our beloved country. Many of our great nation’s achievements would not have been attained without their courage and sacrifice. Women have been the unsung heroes throughout most of human history, with some famed and countless others not.
The Lancaster City Bureau of Police is honored to work alongside such pioneers who have left a lasting mark on our department’s legacy. From our women in uniform to the spouses of our officers and the dedicated women in civilian roles who support the Bureau, we are privileged to have such exemplary individuals among us, contributing immensely day in and day out.
This is why we are proud to partner with the 30×30 Initiative, a movement aimed at increasing the representation of women in law enforcement. Our goal is to increase our women recruits to 30% by 2030. Currently, our department has approximately 8% of women in sworn officer roles.
